FAQ
How do we do what we do?
Great question! This actually comes up a lot. People often wonder how they are able to access high-end properties through Resort Stay for such reasonable rates. Our process begins with sourcing all of our inventory through only Wyndham owners with Platinum accounts, affording our customers the rare opportunity to stay at the most limited of these locations. The only way to stay at a Wyndham resort is through an owner, so you are essentially the owner’s guest during your trip. It’s similar to a vacation home that isn’t used year-round. Where our expertise comes into play is being able to get the best discounted rates, which results in savings we’re able to pass on to you!
How do I make a reservation?
Making a reservation requires some easy interaction with our staff. Please contact us to confirm availability for the property and dates of your choosing. Once confirmed, we’ll just need your name, address, cell phone number, email address and the name to put on the reservation. This must be the same name on the ID of the individual who will be checking in. Once we have all that info, we will quickly send you a rental agreement and invoice, which can each be completed online. We’ll then get you a confirmation to take with you and you’ll be all set for your getaway.
How do I pay?
We accept all major credit cards. You can either pay through the online invoice we send you, or you can give us your credit card information over the phone.
Can we talk?
Of course! Since we’re based on the beautiful island of Kauai, our hours of operation can typically be very convenient for anyone who has a question about their booking, but might not have a free moment before getting home from work. Give us a call at 617-433-STAY or email at info@resortstay.com and we can give you the personal attention you require.
Do you work exclusively with Hawaii properties?
Though we are situated out here in the Pacific Ocean, more often than not our bookings cover Mainland properties. Our featured resorts are actually the Wyndham Park City Resort in Utah and the Wyndham National Harbor Resort just outside Washington D.C. But we have prime locations all over the country to suit your needs, including those right here in our sunny backyard.
What do I need at check-in?
At check-in, please bring a copy of your confirmation, as well as your ID. If you are unable to print the confirmation, you can provide the confirmation number to the front desk. The front desk also requires a credit card hold for $100 to $150, which will be released when you check out. If you don’t have a credit card, they will accept a cash deposit, which is mailed back to you about two weeks after checking out.
Are my reservations cancelable?
This is a biggie. Reservations are final once booked. If you have any uncertainty about your reservation plans, we recommend that you purchase travel insurance from CSA Travel Insurance.
Will I be required to attend a timeshare presentation?
Rest easy. No, you will not need to attend a timeshare presentation when you book through Resort Stay. The concierge may invite you to attend one, which could possibly provide you with discounts on activities for your stay, but that’s completely up to you. However, if you do sign up to attend and use the discounts, missing the presentation could then result in additional charges.
Can I have someone else check in for me?
The ID of the person checking in must match the name on the reservation, so we’ll make sure that is accurate when booking. If you need to change the name on the reservation, there is a guest transfer fee of $99. This is what Wyndham charges for every guest confirmation.
Are there any other fees?
Sometimes. If so, we will disclose all taxes, parking and any additional fees in the rental agreement. You’ll know everything you’re paying for before we click “charge.”
Can I bring pets?
Sorry, pets are not permitted unless they are assistance animals.
Can I read reviews for the resorts?
You can do some investigating on Trip Advisor, which has third-party reviews and photos for the properties. Feel free to read what other patrons have lauded or suggested about your potential resort before making a final decision.
What time is check in/out?
Check in is at 4 p.m., check out is at 10 a.m.
Can I send someone else on a Resort Stay?
Absolutely! We often make reservations where a guest is booked by a loved one for a birthday, graduation or honeymoon. Simply provide their name for the reservation and off they go!
